ROOT. MEDITATION

The Rooted Arrival

A 5-minute grounding meditation for returning to the body and settling into support.

You do not have to arrive calm.

This practice begins with the body that is already here, the breath that is already moving, and the support that is already beneath you.

BEFORE YOU BEGIN

Let your body choose what feels supportive.

You may sit, lie down, stand, or choose any position that helps you feel supported.

Keep your eyes open, softened, or closed. Let your breath remain natural. Pause or stop at any time.

There is nothing to perform here. You are simply allowing your body to arrive.

Give yourself about 5 minutes.

ARRIVE

Let the body be here first.

Notice the places where your body meets support.

Feel the surface beneath you. Let your hands rest somewhere easy. Allow your shoulders to soften only as much as they are ready.

Nothing needs to change before you begin.

I am allowed to arrive exactly as I am.

RECEIVE SUPPORT

Notice what is holding you

Feel the steady support beneath your body.

Notice the floor, chair, bed, wall, or earth meeting your weight without asking you to earn that support.

Let yourself receive even a small amount of what is already here.

I do not have to hold everything by myself.

GROUND WITH THE BREATH

Let the exhale become a little longer.

Notice the breath moving as it is.

When it feels comfortable, allow the inhale to arrive for a count of four.

Let the exhale leave for a count of six.

Continue for a few gentle rounds without forcing the breath or trying to breathe perfectly.

Inhale for 4. Exhale for 6.

TAKE ROOT

Imagine support extending beneath you.

Imagine roots gently extending from the places where your body meets support.

Let them travel downward into the earth at their own pace.

They do not need to grip or hold tightly. They simply remind your body that it is connected, supported, and allowed to settle.

I am rooted. I am held. I am here.

INTEGRATE

Notice what has shifted.

Let the breath return to its natural rhythm.

Notice whether anything feels steadier, softer, heavier, clearer, or simply easier to witness.

Nothing had to disappear for this moment to matter.

I can return to this support whenever I need.

CLOSE THE PRACTICE

Carry the root with you.

Take one more moment to feel the support beneath you.

Let your eyes open or lift when you are ready. Invite a little movement into your hands, feet, shoulders, or jaw.

You do not have to rush away from this steadiness.

From my Sanctuary to yours… ROOT. BREATHE. RISE.
